Ukraine negotiatons with the European Union had a setback last Thurday. While the New York times explains that Russia did a better job explaining the negative consecuences of expandind EU power to Ukraine, the Washington Post declares that Russia used aggressive and invasive methods topesuad Ukraine not joining the EU.

A visit to the Welsh assembly

The welsh assembly goverment visit was very illustrating for me. I was surprise by the small size of the group, and the civilized behaviour they exhibit. A compact group discussing matters in a quiet and orderly fashion. In a building with remarkable design and beauty. It is to be noted that most of the debate was of no importance for me, it does not relate me or my background; however I can respect the order presented as well as the beauty of the building. A remarkable experience

The ability to create new laws

Since it's pollemic devolution, in 1997, the Welsh assembly had a limited power in law making process and the resolution of bills and acts. One of the most significative is the addition of a 5p charge to plastic bags in October 2011. Causing a 76% drop in the comsumptuion of plastic bags.

This law is based on the premise that enviromental waste should be avoided. And since the law is working there are expecting to increase the costs of plastic bags up to 10p.

British goverment against Mexican goverment

This is a contrasting gexperience. The goverment system here is somewhat different than mexican structure, however it stands by the same logic. A chamber divided by 2 operating separately from the executive power and the judicial power. With the only discrepancy of the queen seeing through the final decision in the parlament. In Mexico you have quite a similar system, the only difference will be the queen. Nevertheless the corruption in Mexico spoils everything making it completely useless.

In Mexico polititians are untouchable , while here, they can be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This makes things work in completely different levels of effectiveness.

There are some mixed opinions int he british education system. I was surprise with how complicated it can be and the little probles they have to struggle. It seems to me that this is a system oriented specially for children to find their calling at a very early age. I come from a country where the education is a luxury avaliable only for the rich. Here state schools have excelent levels and I envy a lot the children that had the chance to grow here and take advantage of this system

The great britain is a 4 nation union. With very different identities yet ruled by the same goverment.

Wales has the dragon Y Ddraig Goch, A legendary animal from the welsh folklore

Scotland has the unicorn; in scotish litetarue the unicorn symbol represents joy ar innocense

And finally Northern Ireland Has the Shamrock, Wich Saint Patrick use to reffer to the christian sacred trinity.

This for symbols represent 4 different people, who united under one goverment to create a powerful nation
